2Behold, I, the LORD, am setting Jerusalem as a cup of poison to all the peoples all around. And it will also be over Judah in the siege over Jerusalem.3And it will be on that day that I will set Jerusalem as a stone of burden for all the peoples. All who burden themselves with it will scratch themselves; they will scratch themselves, and all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.4On that day, declares the LORD, I will strike every horse with confusion and its rider with madness. And upon the house of Judah I will open my eyes, and every horse of the peoples I will strike with blindness.5And the thousands of Judah will say in their heart, "Strengthen me, inhabitants of Jerusalem, by the LORD of Heavenly Hosts, their God."6On that day I will set the thousands of Judah as a cauldron of fire among trees and as a torch of fire in sheaves, and they will devour on the right and on the left all the peoples all around. And Jerusalem will remain in its place in Jerusalem.7And the LORD will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David will not magnify itself over Judah, and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem will not magnify itself over Judah.8On that day the LORD will shield the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the stumbling one among them will be on that day like David, and the house of David like gods, like the angel of the LORD before them.9And it will be on that day: I will seek to destroy all the nations that come upon Jerusalem.
